Welcome to Year 3
Year 3 marks an exciting transition into Key Stage 2, where children begin to take greater ownership of their learning and grow in independence, confidence, and curiosity. Our classroom is a lively and supportive space where every child is encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and challenge themselves.
We offer a rich and balanced curriculum that builds on the foundations of Key Stage 1 while introducing new concepts and deeper learning. From exploring ancient civilisations in history to investigating forces in science, our topics are designed to spark imagination and foster a love of learning.
In Year 3, we focus on:
- Developing independence and resilience in learning.
- Strengthening core skills in reading, writing, and maths.
- Encouraging creativity through art, music, and drama.
- Building teamwork and empathy through collaborative activities.
- Reflecting on our Christian values and how they guide our choices.
Our learning journey includes:
- Exciting class novels and reading sessions.
- Practical maths investigations and problem-solving challenges.
- Hands-on science experiments and outdoor learning opportunities.
- Opportunities to express ourselves through writing, performance, and discussion.
We celebrate every child's unique strengths and support them to reach their full potential - academically, socially, and spiritually. Year 3 is a time of growht, discovery, and joy, and we're proud to be part of each child's journey.
