What is a Good Level of Development (GLD)? 

A child is considered to have achieved a Good Level of Development if they meet the expected standard in:

• The three prime areas of learning - Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• The two key early literacy and maths areas - Literacy, Mathematics 

Achieving GLD means children have the essential foundations they need for learning in Year 1 and beyond. 

Our 2025 GLD outcome places us slightly above the national average, reflecting the strength of early reading, communication, and personal development within our Reception provision.
